A Master of Public Administration recipient from American University, Eric Dawicki has led a distinguished career in the maritime industry that has spanned more than three decades. After beginning his career as a member of the United States Merchant Marine and a seaman for multiple shipping companies, he accepted a position IN 1994 as Director of American Maritime Shipping in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this position, Eric Dawicki guided the expansion of an international company with interests in the LNG shipping sector.

Eric Dawicki drew upon this experience to co-found the Center for Maritime Leadership, a Washington, D.C.-based institution that consulted with domestic and international clients about maritime services, operations, and regulatory issues. He later founded the Dominica Maritime Registry, a company which provided services such as an international ship registry, licensing and certification, and compliance programs. He also founded Transportation Security Logistics, which offered security, surveillance, and safety services to clients such as the Port Transportation Rail Authority in Houston.

Currently, Eric Dawicki serves as President and Founder of Northeast Maritime Institute in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, the nation’s first and only private maritime college in the United States. Still actively involved on a global scale, he belongs to professional groups such as the United States National Maritime Security Advisory Committee and stands out as the lead delegate to the United Nations' International Maritime Organization.
